Last Call for the Tool Library, and GNDC Happy Hour tonight!

Should have posted this sooner, but we’re having our pre-Thanksigiving and other holidays celebration tonight at Midlands Beer Garden (address below). When we chose this place last week, it was 70 degrees outside; it’s a little chillier today, but luckily, we also reserved an inside table. As far as I know, we’re all vaccinated, some […]

November last month open for the tool library til spring. Get stuff now!

Fall tidying is here. Although it’s a good thing to leave pile of leaves for wintering native bees, some of you may want to rake those leaves into those piles, instead of carrying them by hand. And, if you’ve been waiting for cooler weather to do outside construction projects, now is the time! Circular saws, […]

GNDC Hosts a Tour of Tools this Saturday! DC’s Shared Tool Library.

Did You Know – DC has a TOOL LIBRARY?!

Need to borrow a keyhole saw? How about a paper shredder? Hedge trimmers, shovels, soil-testing kits, a ladder, wheelbarrows, some ….

GNDC is working on a tool-share! Virtual Meeting 6 pm Sunday, Nov 22nd.

For those who keep track, our GNDC meeting is a week later than normal due to a conflict and so as to follow up on some research leads regarding our new priority – creating community resilience via building community resources – starting with tool libraries. Tool libraries are so you can check out tools you […]

Green Neighbors DC is calling all neighbors – or at least 20+ of us, for a New Hampshire and Illinois Avenues sidewalk cleanup, this Saturday, 9 am – 11:30 am. We just got permission from DC for this, we’ve arranged for trash bags and trash pickup, and the weather promises to be gorgeous that day. […]

We’re hosting the Sherman Circle Social! April 28th, 4-5 pm.

Still on! The occasional rain ends at 3 pm. GNDC is looking forward to hosting the Sherman Circle Social.  We’ll have snacks and kids activities (sidewalk chalk, frisbees, and badminton (sortof)). And we’re brainstorming about eco-activities for the kids. Already, we know we’ll have some animal connect-the-dots, and worms in a compost bin. hmmm. The […]
