If you want to sign petitions and/or participate in marches, rallies or other public demonstrations, you can sign up for alerts from several great organizations:
This international organization, which works on climate change and climate justice, has a DC chapter. You can sign up to get emails from 350.org by going to this page: https://350.org/, putting in your email address and clicking on “JOIN IN.”
The Sierra Club has a DC chapter that you can access here: http://dc.sierraclub.org/. They have several committees, including a Clean Energy Committee, an Environmental Justice Committee and a Zero Waste Committee. To sign up for their email alerts, send an email to rebekah.whilden@sierraclub.org.
Greenpeace has a volunteer platform for petitions, events, social media, and resources (like how to start an environmental group video) for environmental campaigns. https://www.greenpeace.org/usa/volunteer-platform/.
To sign petitions, click go to the home page at http://www.foe.org/, and click on Take Action. To get news and more, on the home page, middle left, fill in your name and email address and click “Submit.”
