Celebrate the Sweeter and Woodier Sides of Fall
Cider and Woodworking Workshop!!
DC Tool Library Pavilion, Twin Oaks Community Garden, 1380 Taylor St NW, 1 – 3 pm.
Hello all!
Let out your frustration (or relief) about politics by pressing cider with one of our two cider mills. We’ll have apples, but feel free to bring your own. (We’ll clean down the machine between presses, but we request that you to take the cider home and boil it just to be sure.) Also, be sure to bring some small containers with lids to take home the cider with you!
Also – test out our grain mill. Bring grain (not nuts) like barley, corn, rice, or even lentils, and we’ll grind it for you. (You can always check out the mill another time too).
And for the solar oven – we are providing the ingredients for smores. Bring the kids!
PLUS – Work with some of our tool volunteers to learn how to use some of our handheld – and power woodworking tools! From wood chisels, to planers, to miter saws. IF we are lucky, the Zenith Community Arts Foundation will also be able to come and demonstrate some woodworking methods.
RAIN DATE is Nov 19th.
Hope to see you in the sunnier afternoon, though on the 12th, fingers crossed!
