GNDC Meeting the 28th and July Events!

Wanted to give everyone a heads up of great opportunities to learn and participate in greening DC through July, especially….we are giving our first online webinar and our first podcast next month! Since we can’t support public speaking at the moment due to Covid-19, we’ve gone online, and have planned out coverage over the summer of topics ranging from DC to national-scaled issues.

We’d also like to encourage you to join to our virtual planning meetings. We are looking for ideas for how to share DC-area environmental information and to create events in this current digital-only world.

So next up through July:

  • June 21st, when our normal GNDC planning meeting would be (third Sunday of the month), is Father’s Day. So we are now holding our GNDC meeting on the 28th, 6 pm (the following Sunday). I will send out a zoom meeting invite – let me know via greenneighborsdc@gmail.com if you are interested in coming.
  • July 8th is our first online webinar! The current title is Overlap, Obstacles, and Opportunities in Conservation/Climate in a Time of Social Crises. 7 pm.
  • July 19th – GNDC’s next planning meeting.
  • July 25th – Did you know July is Plastic-Free month? We’ll be putting resources online all during July about reducing plastic, which leaches into our environment – and into our bodies, like crazy. On the 25th – in our first podcast, (1 or 2 pm) we’ll sum up some of the risks in plastic, challenges in reducing this materials in the environment, and the resources in the DC/VA/MD region to assist. Please tune in for the Plastic Podcast!

More information on each of these events will be sent out closer to the date, so keep an eye out – and you can always write us at greenneighborsdc@gmail.com.

See you virtually soon!
