Thank you, and next up – Wildlife in DC, Speaker S. Tarney, Feb 25th, Petworth Library 7:00 pm.
Thanks to all who were able to donate for our yearly fundraiser for fighting climate change – the Polar Bear Plunge! We raised $1160, $1000 of which will go to the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN); we’ll be voting soon to decide whether we keep the $160 for Green Neighbor Actions, or add it to the donation for CCAN. It was wonderful and I know that Fritz, Catherine, Becca, and David were glad to meet our goal as a result of their jumping in a freezing river! See the post for more details.
So next up, on February 25th, Stella Tarney of Biophilic DC and a Master Naturalist, will be speaking about
- some of the organizations in DC keeping watch on wildlife
- who to contact about specific wildlife questions she can’t answer (she’ll match you up); and
- citizen science opportunities in DC.
More info to come. Just save the date! We’ll have our regular GNDC meeting at 6:30 which anyone is free to join and then Stella, as well as perhaps a colleague of hers, will speak from 7 pm to 8 pm. This will be in the large meeting room downstairs at the Petworth Library. 4200 Kansas Ave NW, Washington, DC 20011.
See you there!
