We survived the Polar Bear Plunge! (and you can still donate.)

Catherine, Becca and her husband David, and Fritz – our GNDC freeze-ready reps, jumped in the Potomac River at the National Harbor on Saturday, cheered on by a roaring, shivering crowd. (I, Annette, just was there as a late cheerleader, with hot chocolate, which I wound up drinking all myself.)

Afterwards, our jumpers were cold, had trouble putting back on their shoes (i.e., tying their shoelaces), except for Becca, who came prepared with pull-on boots. Smart girl.

Pictures to come!

But we made our personal goal of $1000+ ($1025), and might even tip further over the line with some donations we know are still coming in. Please remember that we can still collect donations through Saturday – so if you are so very much impressed by what these four people did, then help chip in to fight climate change – and help keep winter cold!

The first $1000 goes to Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and depending on how much more we get, we’ll either donate the rest to CCAN, or keep for future GNDC activities.
