Pepco-Exelon Merger = Bad Deal for DC
Green Neighbors joins the Power DC Coalition
Our local electric utility, Pepco, is planning to merge with a larger utility called Exelon. This is a bad deal for clean energy and sustainability, because Exelon has a well-established record of lobbying against clean energy. The DC Public Service Commission (PSC) is reviewing the merger, and needs to approve it before it can go forward. We have submitted testimony to the PSC and have joined the Power DC Coalition (http://www.powerdc.org/) to oppose the merger. We urge you to submit comments to the PSC in opposition to the merger as well – please see the Power DC site for talking points and a link to submit comments to the PSC.
